Hey Y’all!
My name is Holly, and welcome to My Cheat Day!
What is a Cheat Day, I hear you asking? Well, I really love eating bad food—visions of cupcakes with ulterior motives are popping in my head—but by “bad” I mean anything covered in frosting, cheese, or butter. Just please not all of those together—that’s nasty. Anyway, due to my love of delicious thunder thigh causing unhealthy food, I decided a few years ago I probably needed to get control of my love handles life and live a healthier lifestyle. In obtaining a healthier lifestyle, I had a major A-HA Moment when I realized I am an “All or Nothing” kind of girl and cannot have just 1 doughnut or 1 cookie every once in a while to satisfy my cravings. That is when I decided I would have one day a week when I would go buck wild, eating everything in sight whatever I wanted, and keep a strict clean diet 6 days a week. In doing this, I have maintained my 30-lb. weight loss for the last 5 years. (Go me!)
Here’s a Before Picture…yikes!
During this time, I have discovered a love of baking—sprinkles, edible glitter, themed cupcake wrappers, hot baked mac ‘n’ cheese in an iron skillet. (Mmm…drooling.) And to me, one of the best parts of baking is sharing. Sooo, what better place to share than right here on
Holly’s Cheat Day?
I have to forewarn you: If you’re looking for healthy recipes this is definitely NOT the place! You will not find gluten-free, butter-free (oh, the horror!), low-carb, low-calorie, or vegetarian. This is my CHEAT Day…and I spare no calories!
A little bit about me…I am a born and raised Southerner from Atlanta, Georgia (just in case you missed that “y’all” from earlier), but have lived as far west as Los Angeles and as deep south as Louisiana. I even spent more than a few years in Nashville in pursuit of becoming a recording artist.
Listen here if you want 🙂
I have worked behind-the-scenes in film and television production for the last several years (not as glamorous as you might think haha). I wear high heels 98% of the time, I love anything sparkly or pink, and animals make me a ball of mush.
I have a 110 lb. Bernese Lap Mountain Dog who sits at my feet while I bake keeps me company in the kitchen. Isn’t she precious?
I also have a big loud family that I am very close with. Many recipes that I share have come from my mom, who got them from her mother, who got from her mother, and—
Well, you get the point.
Thank you for visiting Holly’s Cheat Day and please come hang out for a while.
