Happy Monday everybody!! I am bringing y’all today another one in my How to Series that is definitely one of my favorites, pesto. I love pesto so much, it’s such a simple addition but it makes everything it’s plastered placed on taste better-at least I think so haha.
Following in my former How To steps this one is also beyond easy to make and can be whipped up in about 5 minutes-honestly took me longer to get my food processor out and put together than to make it.
If you’re looking for some ideas, one of my favorite things to do on my cheat day is to toast some bread and slather some fresh pesto, a dash of mozzarella and some tomatoes and nosh away, it’s so good y’all. I hope everyone has a great first day back from your weekend and hope you get an opportunity to make some fresh pesto soon.
Basil, garlic, pine nuts and Parmesan into your food processor…
after processing some, slowly pour in your olive oil…
salt and pepper to taste, mix and dunzo!…
and enjoy!!!

- 1/2 Cup Pine Nuts.
- 3 Cloves of Garlic.
- 2 Cups of Fresh Basil.
- 1/2 Cup Parmesan, Grated.
- 1/2 Cup of Olive Oil.
- Salt & Pepper To Taste.
- Food Processor.
- Place basil, pine nuts, garlic & cheese into your food processor and mix until the texture becomes fine.
- Take the processor top off and scrape down the inside to make sure all of it is in the bottom.
- Place the top back on and turn your food processor back on and slowly pour your olive oil into your mixture until your desired texture is met.
- Now you can add your salt and pepper to taste mixing thoroughly and enjoy!
- You can add as little or as much olive oil depending on how thick or thin you like your pesto.

I had heard about all the wonders of bone broth for months now, from helping heartburn, indigestion and just in general doing amazing things for your immune system I definitely thought it was time to make. I went to a local butcher in my area and got some beef knuckle bones with the marrow, and honestly I really wanted beef leg bones with marrow but they were out but remember you can use any kind you like but definitely try to use bones with the marrow-thats the key. I ended up cooking my bone broth in my Crockpot for 48 hours, but it tasted the best to me at 24 hours because it wasn’t as thick, but remember the longer you cook, the fattier and healthier it becomes for you. I don’t know if this stuff is a miracle worker, but so far I haven’t caught anything yet so we will see. Y’all have an awesome day and stay well!
throw in some carrots and celery, you can use as little or as many as you like…
now some onions…
place your Crockpot on high for a couple of hours, then set on simmer and let sit for at least another 10 hours…
and enjoy!!!

I’ve seen vanilla made with Vodka before (not so sure about the taste on that one) but don’t think I’ve seen it made with Brandy (if you make it this way, sorry haha and let me know), but anyways, why buy vanilla extract when you can make your own for way less and about a gazillion times more delicious? Exactly! there’s no reason you shouldn’t, but obviously this is a recipe that has to sit for a hot second, so don’t think you can make some in a day haha.
Right now, I have 2 bottles of this stuff in my pantry-the new one I just made for the blog and to replenish from giving so much away for Christmas and another one from summer, it smells incredible btw.
So yeah, I keep a little bottle of already made vanilla next to the stove, and keep the bottles of it (yes, keep the vanilla beans in) in the pantry. Happy Hump Day y’all, and let me know if you make yourself some homemade vanilla 🙂
slice each of your vanilla beans down the middle (don’t scrape the insides out)…
all of your vanilla beans sliced down the middle…
now place all of them into your bottle…
after all of them are placed in your bottle, place the top on and shake, shake the bottle and you’re done! (well, in 8 weeks it will be ready)…
and enjoy!!

Heck no y’all, this is seriously easy, and always adds that extra bit of awesome on everything. Many times when I haven’t felt like making a whole shebang of icing but want a little something extra on top of a dessert, I’ll just whip up some heavy whipping cream for a topper and it’s just as good (or better sometimes).
I hope y’all have survived your first full week back from the holidays and have a wonderful Friday and weekend!
whip the heck out of it, and voila!
and enjoy y’all!!!

This recipe was totally my mom’s suggestion, and glad I listened because I had so much fun making these for friends and family (seriously, nerd status).
I’m a big fan of lavender for relaxation, and the dried lavender flowers reeeally take this over the edge of awesome. Please, please make this stuff, it’s insanely easy and makes a totally wonderful gift. Have a very Merry Christmas and Merry Christmas Eve!!
now Lavender essential oil…
shake it all up, now add your dried Lavender flowers…
shake it all up again…
now add more Epsom salts…
and shake, shake, shake…
and enjoy!!!

Anyways, today I’ll be showing you a step-by-step guide to making brown butter. As I have mentioned in past posts, brown butter is one of my favorite things that adds sooo much flavor to everything you put it in, but at times has the mystique (first time ever mystique has been used in reference to butter?) of being difficult to make.
When I first started looking into how to make brown butter, I felt like I kept reading over and over again how easily it was to burn it and how it would be a terrible mess if you did etc, etc. Yes, butter can burn, and yes it could be a mess if you did, but I’m thinking some folks were being a bit dramatic because I think you would have to walk away from your pan of butter to burn it that easily. Soo…here it is….
nice & melted…
starting to bubble a little…
remember to constantly stir, starting to kind of foam up and bubble more now…
starting to see some brown-ness & it will start to smell nutty and delicious at this point…
really nice and brown in the bottom, now is a good time to remove from the heat, but continue stirring…
after taking off the heat and cooling for just a bit…
and you can enjoy this in just about everything!!!
