Tipsy Spritzer Shots

November 4, 2015 By Holly

Happy Wednesday everybody! I know, I know, another cocktail, I really hope y’all don’t mind, but being honest I didn’t have a hot second to bake or make anything fancy this weekend, because it was a full blown all Halloween celebration weekend.

tipsy-spritzer-shots| HollysCheatDay.comI did on the other hand have time to make several cocktails, this being one of them.  Y’all, how cute are these little shots?  These are so perfect to set out for your guests, promise.  Also, not only are these adorable but they also happen to be delicious.

tipsy-spritzer-shots| HollysCheatDay.comThey are bubbly, just enough sweet and with a dash of tart, just to make these super awesome.  These could also be just plain ole regular drinks, because there isn’t really enough alcohol to make these strong enough to be actual shots, and really, I only put them in shot glasses because it’s adorbs.  Anyways, hope y’all have a wonderful hump day, and maybe give these a shot–teehee.

Okey dokey, orange juice…

Pumpkin Beer Brandy

October 16, 2015 By Holly

Happy Cocktail Friday everybody!! Though it’s been a short week due to the long weekend, it sure hasn’t felt like it.  I honestly think crazy has been handed out in buckets to every person I have encountered this short work week, siiigh.

pumpkin-beer-brandy| HollysCheatDay.comMy dude and I are headed out of town tonight and honestly I am sooo looking forward to a change of scenery for a few days I am about to burst.  What’s even better is where we are going is supposed to be super crisp and cool and Fall-ish, aaahhh.

pumpkin-beer-brandy| HollysCheatDay.comFull on Autumn with the beautiful changing leaves and cool weather has been taking its sweet time kicking in around these parts, so no cute winter boots yet for me (as I write this I am wearing sandals fyi).  Anyways, instead of rambling on about my longing for cool weather and a lack of insane people I suppose I should talk about this drink.

pumpkin-beer-brandy| HollysCheatDay.comWell, this drink has apple cider which is always a good idea, some pumpkin beer and some Brandy (definitely a good idea).  This drink is probably the least sweet of any drink I’ve ever put here but if you like your drinks with a much stronger alcohol flavor, especially beer, this is for you.  I hope y’all have a wonderful weekend full of relaxation and being around sane people πŸ™‚

The White Witch

October 9, 2015 By Holly

Happy Cocktail Friday everybody!!!  It’s been a super weird week you guys.  I have been on jury duty since Monday, so I have basically seen my house, the gym,  the courthouse and that’s it.

White-Witch | HollysCheatDay.comMost people bemoan the fact that they have to be there, but since I start law school next year, I think it’s been really interesting and it got me all excited again for school.

white-witch| HollysCheatDay.comThough it’s been super educational, it’s a whole lot of sitting and listening for hours on end so I have been looking forward to enjoying this libation again this next cheat day because I am busted tired.

white-witch| HollysCheatDay.comYou guys, this drink is creamy, delicious and nice & cold,  you can’t even taste the alcohol if you’re worried about that.  Basically think about the best vanilla milkshake you’ve ever had and it’s the White Witch.

Fall Harvest Cocktail

October 2, 2015 By Holly

Happy Cocktail Friday y’all!! Even though it’s been super rainy and overcast for a week, I have to admit I just love it.

fall-harvest-cocktail| HollysCheatDay.comEven at the expense that my hair has been perma flat all week it’s still awesome because it’s so perfectly Fall outside.  Cooler, rainy and I’ve even spotted some trees turning those beautiful shades of red and orange, and it has put me in such a Fall mood and it’s perfect.

fall-harvest-cocktail| HollysCheatDay.comAnyways, I’m bringing a wonderfully Fall drink today that is incredibly light and refreshing, definitely not the typical heavier fair that comes with Fall/Winter drinks.  This drink is sweet but certainly not too sweet, and it makes a ton so obviously perfect to serve to multiple guests you might be having over.  Have a wonderful weekend you guys!!

Apple Cider Float

September 25, 2015 By Holly

Happy Friday y’all!! It’s not going to be a cocktail Friday today but honestly this is such a delicious and yummy drink you’re not going to care.

apple-cider-float| HollysCheatDay.comAlso, I would like to say that this could certainly be a grown up cocktail if you wanted to throw in some Brandy like my Brandy Apple Cider, but obviously totally up to you.

apple-cider-float| HollysCheatDay.comSpeaking of the aforementioned drink, I had a ton of delicious apple cider just hanging around, and some vanilla ice cream and figured that they just might be bffs together.  Y’all, bffs for life because this drink absolutely exceeded any expectations I had, holy moly.

apple-cider-float| HollysCheatDay.comThis drink is basically liquid apple pie, and I almost called it that but thought maybe it sounded a little weird haha.  The amount of deliciousness in this drink is through the roof, please just do yourself a favor and make it as soon as possible.  Have a super fun & safe weekend!

Brandy Apple Cider

September 18, 2015 By Holly

Happy Cocktail Friday y’all!!  I know we’re in full Pumpkin Spice Latte season and all, but can I be honest?…I think Pumpkin Spice Lattes are super nasty.  I know, I know, that’s sacrilege to some of you, but y’all, ewww it totally tastes like potpourri that no amount of whipped cream can cover.

brandy-apple-cider| HollysCheatDay.comLogically, I should like them due to my love of pumpkin everything else, but I just can’t even with the PSL.  Now, if the Bucks (Starbucks that is) decided to make an apple cider-esque (minus the Brandy of course) latte, then I would definitely be on board if it tasted like this amazing libation.

brandy-apple-cider| HollysCheatDay.comY’all, this drink has Fall in every sip…cinnamon, apple and the wonderful warmth of Brandy, oh my.  This drink also smells just amazing, especially with the extra cinnamon and sugar thrown in.

brandy-apple-cider| HollysCheatDay.comLuckily for me, the very first Fall feeling day of the season was this past cheat day, and I enjoyed drinking this thoroughly.  Trust me y’all,  just make this drink, you absolutely won’t regret it.  I’m certainly planning on making this drink again soon, and I may even warm it up when it gets a bit colder, yummy!

Southern Belle Moscow Mule

September 4, 2015 By Holly

Happy Cocktail Friday y’all!!  So excited about this long weekend guys, for reals, long weekends are the bee’s knees.  If I was in charge of important things I would totally make Saturday through Monday the official weekend all of the time.

belles-moscow-mule| HollysCheatDay.comI mean, think about how awesome it would be not to have to rush errands, having a life everything on Saturday to be able to enjoy a little off time, or is that just me?  Four day work weeks would be totally a-okay with this chickadee, what about you guys?

belles-moscow-mule| HollysCheatDay.comSoo, to get your (hopefully) long weekend off right, I’m bringing you this Southern Belle Moscow Mule.  It is another lovely recipe from my favorite cocktail company Belles Organics.

belles-moscow-mule| HollysCheatDay.comI did tweak the recipe from their original one due to my lack of being able to find ginger beer, but holy moly this stuff is so good y’all.  It is so light and fresh, made even more so with my lime peel and basil garnishes.  This drink is dang delicious and crazy easy to make because of the wonderful Southern Belle which is a perfect blend of vodka and lemonade.  Everyone have a safe and wonderful loooong weekend!

First, Southern Belle (still can’t get over how awesome their packaging is)

  5. Fresh Basil For Garnish (Optional).

  2. This recipe made one very large drink, but can easily be double, tripled etc.

Key Lime Martini

August 28, 2015 By Holly

Happy Cocktail Friday Everybody!!  Ok I’m just going to come out and say it…I have a key lime problem, for reals.  I don’t what happened, I went from being super anti key lime for years to now being obsessed and wanting to put it in everything, like everything, hence today’s recipe.

key-lime-martini| HollysCheatDay.comI obviously had quite a bit of key lime juice hanging around, and because I didn’t want it to go bad or so I told myself  I figured I needed to use it up and thought a key lime cocktail would be super fun.  In my search for a key lime cocktail, honestly, I wasn’t having much luck, sooo I figured I would just make something up πŸ™‚

key-lime-martini| HollysCheatDayI am loving this drink y’all, it is super tart but there is enough sweetness to keep it from being completely face puckering.  I do want to point out that I used birthday cake flavored vodka because I didn’t have vanilla vodka like I wanted to use but I truly don’t think there was any difference.  Have a wonderful and safe weekend everyone!

The Bad Monkey

August 24, 2015 By Holly

Happy Monday everybody!!  At the risk of seeming like a lush (I’m not for the record), I’m bringing y’all a totally killer drink for your Monday.  Maybe you don’t want the weekend to end, maybe you need something to soften the blow that it’s Monday again, I’m not judging pinky promise, I’m just here to share a super delicious cocktail that yours truly created.

the-bad-monkey| HollysCheatDay.comOn a recent cheat day I had a wonderful tropical cocktail at a restaurant that had banana rum in it which was delicious, and it got me thinking how versatile bananas are (that sounds weird, sorry).  Seriously though, bananas can make something tropical and beachy, but then also be made warm, inviting and homey like banana bread.

the-bad-monkey| HollysCheatDay.comSooo, I decided to use banana rum in a cocktail that was not your typical tropical flavor.  I couldn’t find anything that I liked so I just made up something πŸ™‚  I’m not a fan of patting oneself on the back, but this drink is gooood y’all.  It’s so rich, creamy and decadent, and I am just in love with this cocktail.  This drink is done in a snap and beyond tasty so I hope you get to enjoy one soon, have a happy Monday!
