Easy Strawberry Cheesecake Dip

March 9, 2016 By Holly

Happy Wednesday everybody!! So excited to share today’s recipe with y’all. I don’t know about you guys, but I love super quick, no bake, easy peasy desserts that can literally be thrown together in less than 30 minutes, because let’s be honest, sometimes you just want dessert, like, now.

easy-strawberry-cheesecake-dip| HollysCheatDay.comI know, that sounds completely gluttonous, but hey, that’s what cheat days are for, hehe.  What’s also awesome about this recipe is that it’s pretty darn versatile…don’t like strawberry pie filling? no problemo, use apple, or blackberry, or really anything that you are particularly fond of.

easy-strawberry-cheesecake-dip| HollysCheatDay.comI also must point out that the first time I made this I got overzealous and threw on an extra can of pie filling because more is better right? yeah, don’t do that, it totally threw the ratio off,

easy-strawberry-cheesecake-dip| HollysCheatDay.comso I recommend just leaving it at one.  Also, feel free to throw some decorative sugar on top, yummies!  Have a wonderful day y’all and I totally think you’ll have time to throw this together tonight πŸ˜‰  Thanks for stopping by!

Easy Salted Caramel Apple Dip

September 28, 2015 By Holly

Happy Monday everybody!! The forever long list of things that are awesome about Fall totally include apples y’all.  I know, apples are pretty basic and normal, but this time of year they are extra good, so sweet, so crispy, nom, nom, nom.

easy-salted-caramel-apple-dip| HollysCheatDay.comAs a kid one of my favorite things this time of year was when my mom would pick up that awesome pre-made caramel dip in the plastic tub from the grocery store.  Certainly not fancy by any means but I would no joke sit there and dip crisp apple pieces one after the other until I had eaten the entire thing (again proving I have never had any great amount of self control when it comes to food hehe).

easy-salted-caramel-apple-dip| HollysCheatDay.comAnyways, though I still love caramel in about any form, salted caramel is still heads and tails above regular caramel, hence the dip I am sharing with you today.  As much as I wanted to make a real, from scratch, salted caramel dip where you use a candy thermometer and try not to burn yourself  the whole life thing gets in the way and I realized I just didn’t have the time.

easy-salted-caramel-apple-dip| HollysCheatDay.comI did on the other hand have the time to make this dip because no joke, this dip was made and ready to eat in about 10 minutes, if that.  I topped off the dip with some toffee bits because that’s always a good idea, and it’s pretty much crack in a bowl.  Jump into Fall with this perfect apple dip you guys, and have a fabulous start to your week!

Samoa S’mores Dip

September 21, 2015 By Holly

Happy Monday everyone!! Ok, so I know this recipe is seasonally behind, but when it comes to things I’m craving, I say to heck with the seasonal stuff hehe.  I personally think Girl Scout cookie season should be year round because, hello, yum.

Samoa-S'mores-Dip| HollysCheatDay.comI am aware though, that you’re either an absolute lover of the Girl Scout Samoa cookie or an absolute hater, I have yet to find anyone on the fence in this matter, scientific fact y’all.  Obviously I am an absolute lover of Samoas, they totally encompass some of my favorite things if only I could put Samoas & Tom Hiddleston together coconut, caramel and chocolate, yum!

samoa-s'mores-dip| HollysCheatDay.comSoo anyways, I thought a s’mores dip that was based off of Samoas would be super delicious, and it totally is.  The way the caramel, coconut and chocolate become all melty and gooey, then the wonderfully toasted marshmallows on top which are all eaten off of graham crackers, droool y’all.

samoa-s'mores-dip| HollysCheatDay.comOf course I couldn’t bake this stuff all together in a regular ole’ pan, I had to bake in an iron skillet because let’s be real, nothing holds the heat in and keeps everything all gooey the way a cast iron skillet does mmmm.

samoa-s'mores-dip| HollysCheatDay.comI hope this dip can bring some joy to those having some Monday blues, or just happen to love Samoas too.

Because I couldn’t find caramel nibs, I used full sized caramels and cut them in half…

Mississippi Sin Dip

June 19, 2015 By Holly

This recipe was sent to me months ago by my sister where I put it in my ‘will definitely make’ pile.  Usually– ok always–when my sister (or anyone for that matter) sends me a recipe it’s always in hopes that I will make it for them.

mississippi-sin-dip| HollysCheatDay.comAs a lover of food I obviously have no problem with this.  This recipe unfortunately had been slightly forgotten as it slowly took the spot on the bottom of the pile.  Well, I had been craving a super cheesy, savory dip, and in the far recesses of my brain this dip popped up.

mississippi-sin-dip| HollysCheatDay.comKind of wish I hadn’t forgotten about this dip for so long, because not only does it look totally awesome in a bread bowl but it was soo darn easy to make and dang y’all it is so good.  I think it is physically impossible to have just a little bit of this stuff, it is down right addictive.  This is the perfect munchy food for your next party πŸ™‚

smores-dip| HollysCheatDay.comY’all I looove me some s’mores in just about any form (cannot wait to try the new Oreo s’mores btw, how about you guys?) and I thought making this dip would be a pretty sweet take on a regular s’more.

smores-dip| HollysCheatDay.comOMG dipping graham crackers into this gooey, chocolatey, marshmallowey dip caused some serious eye rolling of awesome.  This dip is full on s’more crack, so definitely run out right now ok maybe not right now and make it, it’s so easy there’s no reason not to.  Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend everyone.

Ingredients
  1. 2 Cups of Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips.
  2. 11 Full Sized Homemade Marshmallows.
  3. 1 Full Sized Marshmallow, Cut Into Pieces.
  4. 8" Cast Iron Skillet.
  5. Graham Crackers For Dipping.
Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Butter your cast iron skillet and place your chocolate chips in the bottom of the pan.
  3. Now evenly place your marshmallows on top of the chocolate chips, filling in any gaps with your cut up marshmallow.
  4. Bake for 9 minutes or until golden and bubbly, serve immediately with graham crackers.
Notes
  1. Since I used my homemade marshmallows and they all vary in size, you will probably use more if you use the store bought kind.
